If you would like your child to grow into a strong, beautiful smile, then it’s best to floss their teeth each day. However, our Children's Crossing team understands that that might be a difficult goal to achieve if you’re not sure how to properly floss your child’s smile. So, to help you, Dr. Dr. Michael Tew and our team have provided the following instructions:

-Step 1: Hold a short length of floss between the thumb and index finger. Wind the rest of the floss around one finger on each hand. This will help you gain better control. As you floss, make sure you don’t apply too much pressure because if you do, the floss can harm the gums.

-Step 2: When the floss is between two teeth, curve it into a “C” shape and slide it up and down the sides of each tooth. Make sure you floss under the gumline as well.

-Step 3: As you move from tooth to tooth, use a new section of floss. This is important because you don’t want to reinsert the food and plaque that you removed previously.
